MAPS Extends Services in Response to Spam Threat

San Jose, Calif. June 2, 2004 -Mail Abuse Prevention Systems, LLC (MAPS), the leading provider of network-layer anti-spam solutions, announced it is refining its services and programs in response to the needs of its customers and ISP partners. As the pioneer in the fight against spam, and with the recent exponential growth of spam, MAPS recognizes the need to quickly provide its customers with new solutions enabling them to stop spam at its source, before it impacts their messaging infrastructure.

"When the company started eight years ago, I did not anticipate that the spam problem would grow from a nuisance to such abusive levels," stated Dave Rand, co-founder and CEO of MAPS. "In response to the advancing spam threat, we are aggressively developing and introducing new programs and services."

MAPS is extending its multi-part strategy to address the threat that spam poses to the Internet's messaging infrastructure. The strategy includes: agile spam blocking services; an alliance with ISP partners; an expanded internal team focused on customer and partner support; and a refined network certification process for customers and partners.

"Our customers asked for a comprehensive set of services and programs," added Wayne Sanders, president of MAPS. "The first step was to create a stronger presence in the market by adding resources to engineering, and launching sales and marketing campaigns. We now offer services to more markets while better serving our existing customers and ISP partners."
