On July 1, 2004, Kelkea, Inc., purchased substantially all of the assets of Mail Abuse Prevention Systems LLC, including the MAPS family of products. Kelkea is creating new solutions, as well as continuing the development, sales and support of the MAPS family of industry leading services that stop spam at its source. David Rand
Founder and CEO
Mr. Rand founded Kelkea, Inc. in 2004 to develop and market real-time dynamic anti-spam solutions. Prior to Kelkea, in 1996, Mr. Rand co-founded Mail Abuse Prevention System (MAPS) thefirst anti-spam company. MAPS launched the Realtime Blackhole List (RBL?) and created the standard for IP blocking lists. Kelkea purchased MAPS in July 2004. Also in 1996, Mr. Rand co-founded AboveNet Communications, one of the leading co-location companies with the largest IP network. AboveNet went public in 1998 and was acquired by Metromedia Fiber Network in 1999.
Mr. Rand has an extensive hardware and software background; having worked for some of the leaders in networking, including Cisco, National Semiconductor and Novell. He has developed many
leading networking technologies, including the industry standard for tracking bandwidth utilization, the Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG®). Mr. Rand is a leading contributor and has been an active member of the Internet Engineering Task Force since 1991.
Monty Venkersammy
Vice President of Sales and Business Development
Mr. Venkersammy has been involved with the Internet and the World Wide Web since 1990 and has a strong track record developing strategic business relationships and highly effective sales teams.Most recently he was Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Secure Resolutions, an anti-virus company started by former McAfee and Symantec engineers. Mr. Venkersammy was the CEO and co-founder of Webvision, Inc. and Above Commerce (formerly FrontierStore), two highly successful e-commerce start-ups.
Mr. Venkersammy also helped launch Indiaplaza.com, one of the first Indian portal sites, which was later acquired by Satyam Infoway (Nasdaq:Sify). During his 20-year career, he has held positions of responsibility and consulted for companies such as Infosys, IBM, Synoptics, BBN Planet and Proteon. Mr. Venkersammy studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Polytechnic Institute of New York and Pace University.
